I am tired of looking at bare walls throughout our home. So I've decided to challenge myself to tackle one room per month. There are 12 spaces I am planning to complete, including all the rooms, the front yard/porch, and back yard/patio. So hopefully, by this time next year, our house will seem much more like our home!
We really don't have any budget to add to this project, but I do have several pieces of furniture waiting to be finished, lots of half used gallons of paint and spray paint, oodles of craft vinyl, and my creativity to work with.
Let's start off with a home history. We bought a 1962 home in June of 2013. The house had been decorated with wallpaper, drapes, and curtains sometime in the 70's. The kitchen cabinets and furnace are probably the only items updated in the past ten years. Since we have moved in, I have taken down the pink curtains in the kitchen and hung a set of family photos in the front room. That is it! Pretty sad, I know. But now I am determined to decorate this house to make it our home! Here is to a year of diy projects, crafts, decorating, painting, and creating something awesome out of nothing!
